It is dated September 30, 1980. Hungary issued this type or design 20 Forint from 1957 until 1980. There are seven different dates to collect, this being the last. The communist government of Hungary ended peacefully on October 23, 1989, when Hungary officially proclaimed the “Third Hungarian Republic” marking the end of the “People’s Republic” of Hungary. Face: BUDAPEST September 30, 1980 • Blue and green on light green and pink underprint. • György Dózsa, a Hungarian from Transylvania. He is best known for leading a significant peasant revolt against the Hungarian nobility in 1514. The revolt was eventually crushed by the nobility, and Dózsa was captured. He was subjected to a brutal execution, being seated on a throne of fire and crowned with a red-hot iron crown. • Designed by Nagy Zoltan, sculptor.
