This pastel is in good general condition as well as its frame. Not signed. It is under glass. A note: some dust and dirt between the glass and the pastel, some accidents and cracks on the frame, take a good look at the photos. We are selling a second similar painting representing her husband. * Forges of Kerino: The Kerino foundry, an iron foundry with a coke oven, was created in 1829 in Vannes in connection with the port, partly on the dry Trussac sea lay, partly on the land and buildings of the Santière manor. In lethargy in the middle of the 19th century, it was bought by the Count of Virel and Jules Besqueut, owners of the Trédion foundry with a project for a second fusion foundry. Emile Besqueut (son of Jules) later became Ironmaster at the Kerino factory. It was rebuilt in 1869. It employed 110 people in 1874. Bought by the Vallières family in Besqueut, it was taken over in 1910 by Charles Picquot who increased production until 1920. After difficulties, the company was taken over in 1939 by the Ferembal company, which intended to set up a tin can manufacturing plant there. The war interrupts this project and the factory becomes a simple deposit of cans of this company. Part of the buildings, including the cupolas, were destroyed around 1970 to build a set of four buildings. The rest of the factory was demolished at the end of 2002 to make way for a housing complex.
