Description: Original antique lithographed 1896 street map of the city of Paris, printed more than 125 years ago. The image area measures 24.7 x 32.3 cm [9¾" x 12¾"], and the geographic coverage area extends from Parc Monceau to Montparnasse. Details include street names, railway stations, landmarks, and public buildings. The map was engraved by Fisk & Co. and published in The Historical Atlas of the World, by the Historical Publishing Company, Philadelphia in 1896. It is accompanied by a second sheet of the same size, with a view of the Eiffel Tower, which had been constructed as the centerpiece of the 1889 World's Fair, and to crown the centennial anniversary of the French Revolution. On the reverse side of the sheet with the Eiffel Tower, there is a full-page color lithographed map of France, with two insets: the island of Corsica and the Department of the Seine, centered on Paris. Condition: Both sheets are in excellent condition, bright and clean, with no marks, rips, or tears. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions. Buy with confidence!
