Description: Opinel Beechwood Handled Knife with Virobloc Locking Collar By Opinel is this vintage folding steel bladed #8 knife with beechwood handle. The design of the Opinel knife has a slightly downward curve in the blade called Yatagan or drop point and features a stainless steel Virobloc Brevete (patented) locking collar to safely lock the blade open. In excellent vintage condition with minor wear to the wooden handle and surface oxidation on the blade. Blade pivots smoothly and the locking collar rotates properly. Both the blade and handle are marked with the makers mark. Made in France. Measures 4 ⅜" long folded and 7 ⅝" long opened with blade extended. The handle is 1 ⅛" wide at the end (the widest part).
