This button is one of the high quality English made items they would have imported through the Union blockade to sell to the well-to-do Confederate soldiers. This is the pattern listed as figure CS81 in Albert's button book and CSG203 in Tice's button book. This is an excellent original Confederate button that is a fine addition to any collection.
