Description: The listing is for a Nintendo New 2DS LL XL Black & Lime console Complete in Box. Everything is original; the console id on the manual matches the one on the console (Pic 3). I have included a 32 GB sd card in the console. I will also provide a charging cable for free if you ask. I can also help unlock the console and install the pokemon bank and other games as shown in the last picture per your request. Personally I prefer 2DS XL to new 3DS XL as it weighs less, has larger screens and I never use 3D function which makes me dizzy. The console is lightly used, in mint/great condition. There is no scratch on the front and very few wear on the back shell. Both screens have also been attached with protectors. The coloring of the screens is great such that I couldn't see them turning yellow at all. You can also ask me for more photos to check the condition. The console is locked but I can help you unlock it. After being unlocked the system language will remain Japanese but you can play any region cartridges and the in-game display language only depends on the cartridge region Q&A:1. What is an unlocked/locked console?3DS consoles are originally region-locked such that they can play cartridges from the same region (NA console can only NA cartridge). After being unlocked, you can play cartridges from any region and also you can install app/games.2. Why is the system language Japanese? Can I change it to English? The system language is Japanese because this console is originally a JPN model. You can change it (or I can also help change it) but I strongly don't suggest you do that. There are two major reasons: 1. in-game display language is independent from system language but only depends on what game you are playing and what is the region of the cartridge. As long as you are playing NA cartridges or installed NA games, you will have English in the game. 2. Changing system language will break Nintendo EShop service so that i. you cannot download game updates normally (although Nintendo has shutdown online service, you can still download game updates from EShop) and ii. you cannot use Pokemon Bank anymore (Pokemon bank and transporter are still on and you can still use them).3. Is there any fundamental difference between New 3DS JPN models and NA models? While being region-locked, the playable cartridges are restricted. After unlocked, they can play all the cartridges equally. For pokemon bank, transporters, and all the pokemon gen 6 & 7 games, you can choose language (to be English, Japanese, French, etc.) when you start the app/game. You can also install English games onto JPN models. For New 3DS consoles (not XL/LL), personally I would say most consoles you see in the market are JPN models because they are not widely released in NA as the larger XL ones. Only special editions of New 3DS (Mario, Pokemon 20 Anniversary, Animal Crossing, etc.) were released in NA. Therefore, if you saw a New 3DS console with English system language but doesn't have special edition cover plates, there is a great chance that it is a JPN model but the system language was changed to English as mentioned previously.I have installed Pokemon Bank (for Gen 6&7), Poke transporter (from gen 5 to bank). I can also help install other Pokemon/Zelda/Mario 3DS games (all in English) shown in the attached photos. I have tested and the games should work. However, I am not responsible for their functionality. Feel free to ask me questions. Also please check other listings of mine, including Nintendo consoles, games and accessories.
