Description: This listing is for a Vintage late 20th Century Navajo Twill Weave Raised Outline Rug With An I am not sure Yei / or Yei-Be-Chai Storm like Pattern with a rather fine weave , woven by I think Marie or Larry or other weaver of Yazzie family. There was a tag on the rug which has been removed while rug was being serviced and has been misplaced. 8 figures which I am not sure what each figure represents and weather they are of dancers or benevolent supernatural beings , with an overall pattern which resembles storm pattern. 27 1/2 inches by 54 1/4 inches overall weighing aout 1548 grams net. Weave shift every warp on front and back so that if from left to right you have black first and grey second, on back grey would be first and then black second , interchanging from front to back. Corner tassels intact. Weave is wool , and I think warp is cotton although only weave is tested to be wool . It is so tight that its hard to view warp even with trying to pull apart weave. In excellent rather like new condition, I do not think it has seen much exposure or use. It will be shipped folded as shown Very few weavers weave twill weave raised outline and even fewer make elaborate detail designs.
