Description: Offered here are two 9” handmade cloth Navajo American Indian Dolls from the American Southwest. They were obtained at different times and were made by different people. The man has sculpted nose and drawn facial features. His shirt is copper colored velvet with “silver & turquoise belt”, linen trousers and red boots – the right one needs to be sewn back into place. The woman is much newer – she too is dressed in velvet – claret colored with white zigzag, silver, white and turquoise color jewelry and buttons, blue and white stripe petticoat, turquoise & white stockinet panties, and red wooden shoes. Her face is hand painted, her hands are leather and both of the dolls wear their hair in the Navajo style.
