Plates are in overall excellent condition with the exception 'Death of an Ace" by George Evans which displays some foxing, mostly in the margin area. This is a mid grade item. It will have enough minor defects that it is in clearly worse condition than a brand new freshly published comic, magazine, or book. Allowed defects for this grade include: a spine split of less than half an inch, minor water spotting or other residue, impacted corners, and an accumulation or spine stresses that may break color. An item could be assigned this grade due to either an accumulation of minor defects or one or two moderate defects. Description Limited Edition Portfolio. Volumes two and three were combined in the final illustrated envelope by Burne Hogarth, and include seven plates that are also signed and numbered to 1,500, as well as eight more bonus plates that were thrown into the mix as a "thank you" to the people that had purchased these in advance and had to wait for some of the artists to make good on their commitments to this project. The envelope containing Volumes two and three contains: "Death of an Ace" (color print) by George Evans, "Through Whom my Power Flows" by Michael Kaluta, "Teddy Bear" by Bernie Wrightson, "My Good Buddies" by Jack Davis, "Tarzan" by Neal Adams, "Star Hawks" by Gil Kane, "Pogo" by Selby Kelly, "Merlin" by Hal Foster...all signed by the artists. Bonus plates include: "Merlin" (color print) by Hal Foster (shot from a hand-colored original...beautiful!), "The Gauntlet" (color rough for the movie poster featuring Clint Eastwood) by Frank Frazetta, "Swamp Rescue" (The Spirit) by Will Eisner, "Prince Machiavelli" by Burne Hogarth, "Sex Objects" by Harvey Kurtzman, "Dweller in the Dungeon" by Wally Wood, and "Space Soldiers" by Al Williamson. Each plate is printed on archival fine art paper, and measures 12" x 16".
