Description: For sale is a very rare t-shirt you won't see too often.... The first ever release from a line of shirts artist Brian Walsby started working with biofocalmedia on, that were limited to *300 pressed for each band and released on bifocal's website.// This was the very first release, and the Descendents were the second. I honestly do not recall order after that, but I believe they still run the same line to this day, or a similar one which only presses *150 total for each band tee. This was the first one in the line ever released, though, done for the Melvins, as Walsby has worked closely with them for a long time now. It is quite hard to find now since few were made, and it sold out so quickly, and has never been repressed... It is unique in that it is maybe the only shirt in existence to feature both the Melvins and Kurt Cobain on it depicted in any manner. If you know about either Cobain or the Melvins as a whole, you know there was a big history there... The shirt is olive green, a medium, printed on a Gildan tee. The artwork is a parody of the Queen album "News of the World" with a cartoony depiction of Kurt Cobain as a mechanical robot, crushing the Melvins. In small print, it says "Brian Walsby 2010"* on the shirt... *Initially, pre-orders for this went up near Xmas 2010, but they did not ship until 2011. That's why it says "Brian Walsby 2010"--because artwork was finished in 2010, shirts were technically pressed and not shipped until the year turned to 2011. I know they shipped early-- they were made in 2010 and shipped in early (Jan?) 2011 to all pre-orders.. The Melvins' message board also got first dibs on*100 shirts before the page for them went live, with 2 others also reserved (one being for Brian). These were given out at a concert that was somehow connected to just the special message board members, like a secret show if I remember. The other 198 were made public at some point shortly thereafter when preorders for the site went up, and I believe they sold out in under a week or about 6 or 7 days. The thing was, not many people knew about them even being in existence when the line first started. I discovered it on accident myself... Mine has never been worn. I guess when I bought it, I thought of it more as something cool I didn't want to run the risk of getting pizza sauce stains on or something ridiculous. That, and at the time, medium was too big for me (and I'm at that point currently again with most mediums as I have morphed into a smaller size). While I have not worn it, it has been in areas due to living in three different addresses since I bought it, maybe four... And as result it may have been exposed to the scent of cigarettes. I make note of this because I totally get it-- I hate the smell and can tell it's there from 10 feet away or more. But since it has never been worn, only hung, it may have picked up a scent over the years... I have had it now since 2011, so that means I've lived in four different places since then. What I can do is wash it lightly if you would like. I do not want to do anything as it is "like new" in a sense. But I could do that to deodorize it-- please let me know beforehand if you make a purchase. I simply cannot attest to whether or not it has any secondary scents from being moved around and in so many different places since I got it. I have some other Nirvana, Pixies, and alt. rock rarities..., Husker Du vintage tee, Replacements vintage tee with another one being listed soon.... an old Wu-Tang original OG t-see. A distressed/deconstructed original '98 Kill Rock Stars mail order "The Singles" Bikini Kill shirt with the logo still showing clearly, and tags are still somehow in place- but it is very distressed. I also have a very, very rare Hendrix t-shirt that is new w/ tags, never been worn, and was only pressed once for a release of a posthumous 1980 album... as well as some other punk acts and music memorabilia here and there with new stuff always being added. I ship the very next business day! Including Saturday. Cutoff time being 12pmCT. Any questions, please let me know. Thanks!
