The plan involved deploying SAS troops to Argentina's mainland, with a pivotal role for the Sea King HC.4, specifically the 846 Naval Air Squadron's model, which would transport the soldiers. The Sea Kings were chosen for their range and ability to conduct low-level insertions. The mission was ultimately aborted due to its high-risk nature and logistical challenges, yet one Sea King attempted to reach the Argentine coast. When detected, the crew destroyed the helicopter and evacuated, leaving the operation unfulfilled.
