Description: **This is an EX-LIBRARY COPY, with all the usual library markings. See photos for more details.** This 2006 release from PBS and KLRU-TV in Austin, TX, looks at the crash of a P-47 Thunderbolt plane during World War II. This disc is an ex-library copy in good condition and plays perfectly, with the following write-up on back: "Going down in enemy territory was probably the last thing on my mind." But that's exactly what happened to First Lieutenant Bill Grosvenor (8th AF, 56th FG, 61st SQ) on November 30, 1943, when his P-47 Thunderbolt crashed in occupied Belgium. Within minutes, Grosvenor was in the hands of the Belgian Resistance -- ordinary men and women who acted with extraordinary courage to save and repatriate hundreds of Allied airmen stranded within their borders. Nearly sixty years later, Grosvenor returns to Belgium with his wife and son to explore the motivations -- ethical, spiritual and ideological -- that propel one stranger to help another despite the risk to his or her own life and everything dear. What is unearthed during this emotionally charged pilgrimage takes even the most jaded WWII film buff by surprise.
