Description: Authentic Vintage "Route 22" Metal Sign Offering an authentic, used vintage and retired metal "Route 22" road sign. This is an actual used street sign and I would rate this as quite rare, since I have not found another similar sign online in my searches. The sign reads as follows: W 22 332 .0 U.S. Route 22 (US 22) is a major east-west route and one of the original United States Numbered Highways, established in 1926. It runs from Cincinnati, Ohio, across Pennsylvania, to Newark, New Jersey. I am not sure what the other numbers refer to, though. Possibly mileage of some sort. Rt. 22 across PA measures approx. 332 miles, so it could be measuring mileage when you enter PA heading west from Easton. The sign measures 36 inches high by 15 inches wide and has some significant scratches, as shown in the photos. Otherwise, it has a great patina. The letters and trim are white, and the background is green, showing signs of aging as depicted in the close-up photos.
