Description: Up for sale is a beautiful polished agatized blue forest petrified wood slab. The petrified wood slab measures 7 x 5 1/2 inch. This piece is epoxied together as most of the blue forest is found split from ancient fractures. Blue forest petrified wood is found about an hour from Kemmerer, Wyoming in Eden Valley and is almost always found in a thick crust like layer of algae. The fossil wood is known for the light blue chalcedony associated with many of the pieces. The chalcedony is frequently found encasing the wood with botryoidal (meaning shaped like clusters of grapes) layers, making beautiful and attractive specimens. The blue forest wood originated from the shallow areas of the ancient Lake Gosiute, during the Eocene era dating back aprox 30 to 50 million years ago. I have taken photos and a video to help show all aspects of the piece and to illustrate it's beauty. If you have any questions, please let me know.I ship within the U.S.
