Description: According to the promotional note on the album cover, the content is as follows: In 1946, Martzy arrived in Switzerland in haste and unfortunately missed the Concours International 'Execution Musicale' in Geneva that she was supposed to participate in. At that time, she was almost unknown and lived a difficult life in Geneva. Fortunately, luck finally came to this talented musician, and the following year, she began her brilliant performance career with the invitation of Ansermet who appreciated her. Martzy's premiere in Switzerland was carefully selected and only circulated among a small group of friends and connoisseurs. She also announced that she would hold a music academy concert with the famous pianist Doris Rossiaud of the Roman Orchestra on January 31st. The program included Handel's Sonata in D major, Beethoven's Kreutzer Sonata, Bach's Violin Solo in G major, and Bartók/ Székely's Romanian Folk Dance, ending with Ravel's Gypsy. This was also the beginning of her connection with the legendary Swiss pianist Rossiaud. In October 1947, she won the first prize at the Geneva International Competition, establishing her position in the music world. However, Martzy's recording career did not begin until 1951, which was also the earliest recording year in her discography. Therefore, it can be imagined that when this recording from 1948 was unearthed, it would cause a great shock in the collection world. The accompanist was her excellent partner in the Swiss premiere, and this recording added many new elements, such as the famous work Hora Staccato by Martzy's compatriot composer Grigoras Dinicu, which was played only once by Martzy. Although the master tape is 60 years old, it is still perfectly preserved. Martzy's unparalleled, stunningly perfect control is also described by critics as warm as honey, elegant as a breeze, and energetic classic performance. Only print 300 sets, so the opportunity is fleeting! ------------------------------------- You can also check on discogs sale list:https://www.discogs.com/seller/Inter-Stellar_Vinyl/profile
