Only Hartmann makes this rugged leather as beautiful as it is strong. The all-natural vegetable tanning process takes a full six weeks. They spend even more time replenishing the natural oils and greases that are lost during the tanning process. These are put back deep into the leather, not just on the surface. This extra care gives the belting leather unsurpassed durability and beauty which only improves with age, acquiring a rich patina over time. And because they use only naked vegetable tanned leather you can actually see the natural range scars, insect bites and fat wrinkles that give Hartmann a distinct personality. This premium full grain leather is tanned utilizing a very select choice of steerhides. The leather actually goes through a double tanning process to ensure a supple feel yet durable finish. Harmann then has the leather deep dyed to maximise the fine appearance for many years to come.
