Harry Collingwood was the pseudonym of William Joseph Cosens Lancaster (1843-1922) , a British engineer and novelist who wrote over 40 adventure books. He was the son of a master mariner, and most of his books have a nautical theme. Scarce original pictorial hardback in its original jacket. 317 pages, with frontispiece and 2 other black and white illustrations by C M Padday, all present and correct. The jacket in very attractive condition with some light wear and toning, and a tear to the front cover (see pictures). Nice Christmas gist inscription to Nora Irene Liddell to the front free endpaper (see picture). Internally clean. Binding sound and square. A very nice example in the uncommon jacket.
