Fresh from an old prominent estate. Never offered on the market until now. Vintage, Old, Original - NOT a Reproduction - Guaranteed !! This came from a group of letters recently discovered in Upstate, NY that have sat untouched for over a century. From the S.C. Tallman funeral home in Auburn, NY. Tallman was an early member of the auto clubs in the area, and the national organization. These letters are from just before Moyer started producing autos, and was making carriages/ wagons. Known for his patent side and end spring buggy. Also made sleighs. 5 pieces (3 letters) offered in this group. Typed letters signed by Moyer. Nice graphics. In very good condition. Fold marks. Moyer Carriage Company in Cicero, New York, in 1876.[1] The company relocated to Syracuse, New York, in 1880 and later changed assembly to luxury automobiles in 1908[2] and was renamed the H. A. Moyer Automobile Company. After discontinuing production of the Moyer Car in 1915, Moyer incorporated the business, H. A. Moyer, Inc., and became a dealer for Velie automobiles and Stearns-Knight automobiles. Moyer Automobile Company (1908–1915), a manufacturer of luxury automobiles in Syracuse, New York, was founded by Harvey A. Moyer (1853–1935) of Clay, New York.[1] HistoryThe company began business in 1876 in Cicero, New York, as H. A. Moyer Carriage Company. As the era of the horse-drawn carriage came to an end, Moyer switched assembly to motor vehicles, although he continued to produce carriages.[2][1] Moyer built large cars in the luxury $2,000 to $3,000 (equivalent to $94,221 in 2022) range. His engines had full-pressure lubrication and both four-cylinder and six-cylinder versions were available. Moyer intended to introduce a less expensive version for the 1916 model year, but he ran out of capital funds. By the end of 1915 he discontinued his automobile business, after the production of about 400 cars.[2][1] In 1916 Moyer incorporated as H. A. Moyer, Inc., and became a dealer for Stearns-Knight and Velie automobiles.
