Description: A glorious antique Edwardian 18k gold opal cabochon diamond trilogy ring, hallmarked to 1908. This very high quality solid 18k gold Edwardian ring has three truly stunning opal cabochons full of extraordinarily intense plays of color including blues, greens, golds, oranges and purples with flashes of gorgeous fiery crimsons and pinks set against a wonderful sunset orange opalescence, the opals separated with four glittering and sparkling old cut natural earth mined diamonds, the gemstones prong set in a beautiful elaborate gallery-just fantastic and a real joy to wear! The ring has English hallmarks with the crown for gold, '18', the Birmingham anchor and date letter 'i' for 1908. The ring tests for 18k gold. The ring is approximately a size 6 3/4. The ring measures approximately 16mm x 7mm across the face. The central opal measures approximately 6mm x 4.5mm, the smaller opals about +/- 4-5mm and the diamonds approximately +/-2mm. The opals have a total approximate weight of 0.57 carats, the diamonds about 0.1 carats, the total gemstone carat weight is about 2/3 carat. The ring rises about 4mm above the finger and weighs approximately 3.9 grams. The ring is in general excellent condition with light overall wear including a couple of shortened prongs.
