Description: Offered is the vintage book "Furniture-As Interpreted by the Century Furniture Company-Grand Rapids, Michigan", published in 1935 by the Century Furniture Co. It is a stated seventh printing of the book, first printed in 1926. There are dozens of black and white photos of furniture produced by the company in styles ranging from Egyptian through American Empire, as well as small black and white illustrations of furniture parts. Also included is a four-page advertising brochure from the company briefly describing the company and the book, which has a large room illustration on the front. The book is approx. 8 1/8" x 5 1/2" and contains 168 pages, including the glossary. It is in very good condition. The thin blue and black hard cover has almost no wear but does have a vertical wrinkle in the center of both front and back. The gold title on the spine is still shiny. There is no cracking inside either the front or back cover. The white endpapers are clean, although the original owner, Edna Schletty of the Dayton's Bluff Station neighborhood of St. Paul, Minnesota, has typewritten her name, address and presumably the date she acquired the book (October, 1935) on the first blank page. (See photo #4-I don't know how she accomplished this while the page was attached to the book!) I see no missing or torn pages and all of the pages are well-attached to the binding. The pages have yellowed a little but otherwise they are clean and clear. I see no writing in the book other than some small check marks on many of the glossary terms, probably erasable if desired. The advertising brochure is in very good to excellent condition, with no tears, damage or writing. It does have some light wrinkling. I have a lot of experience with vintage and antique books but am not an expert so please let me know if my description is missing information and you have additional questions.
