Here we have a wonderful early MCM hand crafted quality earthenware DINNER PLATE designed by Esta James for the FRANCISCAN series in the "Trio" pattern and produced by Gladding, McBean and Co. of California - displaying abstract flowers and leaves in hues of green and brown...on a cream background with tiny speckles, metropolitan square shape.It measures approx. 9-1/2" top square x 1" side high.It is in very good maintained (barely/hardly used) condition with no chips or cracks or crazing, no damage noted...appearing to have had little or no use. The bottom is marked, "FRANCISCAN ~ MADE IN CALIFORNIA USA ~ Color-Seal ~ GLADDING, MCBEAN & CO. ~ ©OVEN.SAFE®." Came from a well cared for private home collection of many years, however the exact ages are unknown, pattern discontinued, production run from 1954-1958. This item weighs approx. 1-1/2 lbs., add 2-1/2 lbs. or so for the packing box and packing material. I combine shipping when safe and practical for all items purchased.
