Description: Lovely print of a mother with child. Note found with framed print says that it is circa 1900, appraised for $125-$150 in 2004. My investigation of the piece has led me to believe that the artist was Polish born Otto Lingner (1856-1917). I did a photo search of the image and found a postcard with the same image that was postmarked 1913 with Russian and Polish translations. The translation of the text on the bottom was "Ligner- A Mother's Love". I found that Otto Lingner fit the time period, and his art style is very comparable. The backer for the print is packaging from an Ann Arbor, Michigan dry goods store named Mack & Co. Open in the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries. I have added photos of the note, the postcard with translation, examples of Otto Lingner's other work, and an advertisement from the dry goods store I found online. Sale is for framed print with appraisal note only. All other images are for reference only. Image is 10"x17". Frame is 14"x21". Thanks for looking!
