DISCUSSION: The Four Quartets are the defining work of the second half of Eliot's career and the most important work other than The Waste Land. The four meditations reflect both Eastern and Western influence combined with Eliot's brand of Catholicism. The quality, book design and style are identical to the Officina Bodoni 'The Waste Land' with The Four Quartets being slightly taller in height. The flawless presswork by Mardersteig using a 19th century handpress sets is again evident, a joy to read. This is a highly collectible copy with very minor flaws as described.
