Description: This is a vintage linen postcard, postally used and postmarked 1938 from aboard an Atlanta and New Orleans train number 4. RPO issued postmark. Postcard features a view of the fishing pier at Pensacola Beach which extended into the Gulf of Mexico. The beach shows sun bathers and people enjoying a band playing on a bandstand. Built in the mid 1930s, the fishing pier was the longest pier into the Gulf of Mexico. The pier was destroyed by a Hurricane in 1995, but has since been rebuilt. Postcard issued 1937 by Curt Teich.
