Extremely Rare Colonial to Revolutionary War Wooden Willow Banded Stave Canteen c.1765 Click images to enlarge Description Up for Consideration is a Extremely Rare Colonial to Revolutionary War Wooden Willow Banded Stave Canteen c.1765 c1765-80 This c.1765 Late French & Indian to Revolutionary War Era used wooden canteen measures about 9.25" long, 7.25" high and 2.5" wide in diameter at either end. It has a nice intact original raised wooden spout, as typically missing the plug. Each end has four period iron tacks. This very scarce unusually designed and constructed example has twelve wooden bands on each end, instead of the more commonly seen metal bands. Its in very nice original untouched condition. This is a very pleasing, whole and nicely designed early American Wooden Stave Canteen that is attractive for display. Choice Very Fine. A Former Museum display Piece!
