Author Biography Dr. Kestenbaum is Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. He has advanced training in epidemiology and extensive experience in conducting clinical research. A long-time teacher of the required medical school course in epidemiology and biostatistics, he began writing the First Edition out of frustration with the appropriateness for medical students of the available books which are aimed more at graduate students taking a one- or two-semester course.
