Description: The Comic Reader #205 (Street Enterprises, October 1982). VF Small chip and discoloration at front cover spine and top edge. Green Lantern front cover by Ken McFarlane and Dennis Jensen; back cover unused Batman #356 pencil cover by Don Newton (it's better than the published cover by Ed Hannigan and Dick Giordano for "The Double Life of Hugo Strange"). Captain Kentucky by Don Rosa; 1940s Superman dailies reprinted; Paul Temple dailies by Francis Durbridge & Phil Mendoza. The Comic Reader WAS the internet for comic book fans of a certain age. Cover price $1.50. NOTE: TCR during the late 1970s and early 1980s was printed on uncoated newsprint stock. The cover was bleached, heavier paper stock than was used for the inside pages, which were thin and tan in hue even when brand new. Over time, the inside pages oxidized and discolored much more quickly than the covers. Therefore, the color and condition of the inside pages is not given significant weight in determining an overall grade of TCR issues from this era. The whiteness of the cover stock, (clearly seen on the inside front and inside back pages) the printing registration, the brightness and saturation of the cover inks, along with the general condition of the binding, are the primary determinants of my grading for TCR issues from this era.
