Distributed by the South Carolina Dept. of Health & Environmental Control - Office of Solid Waste Reduction & Recycling " to encourage & promote recycling.Poster is 29" x 17" with a great photo of Col. Bolden about 13" x 18 inches. Shadows in corners of poster are not on actual poster, but rather bottles used to hold poster in place, while taking photos. Charles Bolden was born, raised & educated in Columbia, South Carolina. He was a 1968 graduate of the Naval Academy. Then became a Marine Aviator & test pilot. He joined NASA in 1980 and during his 14 year service with NASA, traveled in orbit 4 times during 1986-1994. Piloted space shuttles "Columbia" - Discovery" and "Atlantis." After his final flight in 1994, we left NASA and returned to active duty with the Marine Corp, with majority of duties at the Naval Academy. On July 17,2009 he was appointed the 12tth Administrator of NASA. He was inducted into the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame on May/2006 Not sure of vintage of this poster, but believe from the 1980's, as we have had it in our collection for over 20+ years.
