Description: Antique Bronze Greyhound Sculpture Circa 1840, Non-magnetic After researching multiple sites for this item, I found the exact item on a museum website. The following is the data from that site: Willaschek, Valentin- artist/sculptor Manufacturer: Iron Foundry of Munkcs Date of production: ca. 1840 Materials: Bronze The figure of the decoration is a lying greyhound, crossing its front legs and raising its head, with a belt on its neck. The first pieces of this type were made in the 1820 s in the Royal Prussian Iron Foundry in Berlin, following the model of Friedrich Riese, a German sculptor. It was first cast in Munkacs in the early 1840's, during the activity of V. Willaschek. V. Willaschek produced a model similar to Riese's, except for the posture of the dog's feet.
