These retail for $1270 on the Church's of England website and that's exceptional quality not found in any mall. These are also unusual in the world of Church's Shannon Derby shoes. Church's confirmed for me what the handwriting on the leather inside the shoe reads - it is "Test III and Cetus (leather)," and that they are Shannon Derby shoes. Maybe these were the test pair for a world leader? A King? A Shiek? A $1.5million Ferrari owner? A deposed dictator? James Bond? Or a simple elegant man of distinction who appreciates hand made quality. Shannon Derby shoes are hand stitched, whole cut leather with a binder edge, a stacked heel and round toe. Each handmade shoe takes 58 days and 250 to 270 different processes to make and is made with a storm welt that provides superior water resistance. The Church's logo is on the sole and footbed. The shoe is marked as a 10C on the sole and using the size conversion chart on Church's website that equals USA size 11.5, but please confirm sizing to your own satisfaction before purchase. Shoes have a few very minor imperfections as would be expected in a pre-owned pair, seen in photos. The leather insole on left shoe is lifting slightly.There are a few very small nicks and marks as shown in photos, hardly seen from a distance. The original laces are short and ends frayed but I am including a similar new waxed pair of laces and a more modern pair of longer waxed laces. The inside leather tongues seen in photo show some blackish marks from the waxed laces. It was on both shoe tongues and does rub off with shoe soap. It's not noticeable when shoes are laced. I cleaned off most of it. Outside sole measurements are 12.5" long and 4.5" at widest part of sole. Please see photos as they are part of description and every effort has been made to show any imperfections but as a pre-owned item there may still be small areas of wear not seen.
