Description: This extremely rare Mid-Century Modern adjustable salon barber or chair is a variation of the iconic Pretzel Chair Designed by Norman Cherner in 1958.The famous Pretzel Chair, with black leather upholstery and a warm walnut finish, was fitted with a hydraulic base with adjustable lever and foot rest by the American Atelier inc. company (who purchased Plycraft company in 1970).As it is in a used/vintage condition, price has been discounted significantly- other more pristine examples can be found for $1900+. Everything on the chair still functions perfectly, and could easily be restored. Cushion leather is in great condition for the age, most wear is present on the wooden arms/back. No cracks, all hardware is present. Open to offers, as I’m unsure how to price it.
