Description: Chelsea Ship's Bell Yacht Wheel Clock - Circa 1927 Bronze Composition Red Brass Case Matching numbers case, movement and stand This clock is in very fine condition for it's age (circa 1927). It is the rarer "A" bronze composition red brass case and is fitted with the Chelsea 4-1/2" "Special" Arabic numeral dial. The "Special" order dial is very clean and with the original Chelsea serpentine blued hands. Ships bell strike is striking the 8-bell sequence properly with a gong coil bell. Black mahogany stand is intact with some bumps and bruises (see photos). Overall clock is in very nice vintage as found condition. The Clock keeps good time and has been regulated and lubed. The clock is fitted with a Chelsea high grade 8-day lever house strike platform escapement movement. Push button hinged bezel has a clear glass lens. Lower base bronze front engraved with: Louis Marquez Jonathan Club October 4, 1976 (the Jonathan club is a prestigious Los Angeles, CA social/political club dating back to the early 1900's).
