Description: c 1882 Ridgways Child’s 3-Pc ‘DAISY’ Plates Miniature Staffordshire Reference: 1) Doris Lechler, ‘English Toy China,’ Figure No. 157, pp 58, 173. Here are a total of 3 miniature plates transfer printed in Cobalt Blue over a creamy white in an allover flower sheet pattern; the pattern name is ‘DAISY.’ These pieces are unmarked, with the exception of the printed number 8, and 'ENGLAND.' There is something embossed, but cannot properly identify the mark. These miniature Plates would have been part of a larger dinner or tea service and were made by Ridgways between 1882 to 1890. This is a very lively pattern that reminds us of the calico-type prints that were very popular at this time. Dimensions: (3) Plates: 3.675” Diameter Please ignore any white glare reflections in the photos. These Antique child's miniature Plates are in excellent condition. Stilt marks, light crazing, transfer smudges and slips, and minor typical firing imperfections may appear sporadically consistent with production from this period of time, but nothing that diminishes the display value.
