Description: Auction for vintage WW2 British Royal Navy S.K.S.77 Marlin Spike pocket knife. Research turned up many different aspects on the knife but it will be up to you to determine which is correct. A knife forum said this is a typical 1939/40 knife with crude grip. There is no broad arrow. Possible British issue then given to the Indian navy pre-war or post 1948 independence. Some say the knife is a Belgian issue. The inferior grips would indicate a WWII production or another country. They may be pressed leather. Copper bails were phased out in 1940/41. The Clothing Code CC73465 may indicated a pre-war code. Each knife has a story. Doubtless this knife traveled the world and without talking to the original owner we are left to speculate. My guess is this is an Indian Navy copy of the British Marlin Spike knife. Ultimately, you will have to decide for yourself.1. British Royal Navy Marlin Spike pocket knife.
