Description: B&K 606 tube tester, refurbished and calibrated. The original 1/2 watt 20% tolerance carbon composition resistors were WAY out of spec, so they were all replaced with 1 watt 1% tolerance metal film resistors. The original electrolytic capacitor was replaced with a brand new high quality Rubycon cap, and the capacitor across the meter was replaced with a nice Sprague cap. High temperature fiberglass tubing was added to all appropriate component leads for added safety. All switches and contacts were thoroughly cleaned with Deoxit contact cleaner and then cleaned again. The only thing I didn't clean were the tube sockets, but I would highly recommend it. After all that, it was calibrated using the calibration procedure in the owners manual. To show it in action, I've taken pics of it testing 3 known 12AU7 tubes, one dead, one weak, and one strong. All tested just like they should. Although I forgot to take a picture of it, the neon "Shorts" light works fine and is calibrated to 1M ohm resistance, per the owners manual.
