This was the site of an Assemblies of GodYouth Camp. The exact date was July 3, 1961 when Billy Cottonaccepted Jesus Christ as his personal saviour. The plan of Godfor this fifteen year old teenager was a new life and a new futurein God. During the very same week of youth camp, Billy felt theHand of God upon his life and heard the Voice of God callingto full time Christian ministry.The return home was an experience. God immediately beganopening doors of ministry. Billy started preaching the Gospel atthe age of fifteen. He became a licensed Minister of the Assembliesof God at the age of seventeen. The touch of God upon his lifewas evident to all those who knew him.The Fall of 1964, after graduation from high school, Billyentered Southeastern Bible College in Lakeland, Florida, to furtherhis education and preparation for the ministry. During the collegeyears and summer months he preached revival crusades through-out the Southeastern states.During the Summer of 1966, while conducting revival crusades,Billy met a young lady from Macon, Georgia. Cherie Rape was,at that time, the pianist at First Assembly of God in Macon,Georgia. Billy conducted Revival services in her home church.Cherie had already made plans to attend Southeastern BibleCollege in the Fall of 1966. They dated throughout the followingschool year at Southeastern Bible College and were married onAugust 6, 1967.Upon graduation from Bible college, Billy and Cherie havebeen engaged in the Ministry of Evangelism. Their minstry hasled them into many churches through the States. The blessings ofGod are evident upon their ministry as God is opening manydoors of invitations to them.
