Description: RARE AUTHENTIC HUASTEC FLUTE: 1000 BC -1400 AD An amazing piece of ancient history, this working, ceremonial flute was unearthed in the 1960’s on very small, remote island located in Tamiahua Bay, between Tampico and Tuxpan, Gulf coast Mexico, which had been largely inhabited by the Huastec culture. Former William E. Guynes Collection (1927 - 2006), Houston, Texas Approx: 7 inches long Condition: Delicate but stable. Several breaks which have been glued back together. Overall good condition considering the age. With finger over open end, flute does work.
