Askew London Signed Vintage Large Silver-plated Celestial Heavens Brooch

Description: Highly desirable, fabulously stylish collectors item from much sought-after jeweller 'Askew London'. These beautiful 'Sun, Moon and Stars' brooches were made in both gold- and silver-plated finishes but were only ever made in very small numbers in common with all other Askew jewellery. Fans now include many celebrities - including Victoria Beckham - and every collector wants this particular, iconic piece! This is a large and dramatic brooch, instantly noticeable and widely-recognised, representing the three celestial bodies as a cheerful sun, a crescent moon and the earth tilted to show the Americas. They are set in an organic swirl of sky and scattered with several sparkling crystal stars. The brooch looks wonderful worn against any background fabric and fastened at any angle. The effect is simply lovely.This is the silver-plated version of the brooch and is in immaculate condition. All components are present and original, the pin is straight, the catch is secure and the makers mark is clear. It can be polished to a high shine if desired but I have left it slightly tarnished as this is the natural 'patina' of age and is my personal preference. Please note that the earrings shown in the last two images are not included with the brooch. The blue earrings are by Miracle and the cage-style clip-ons are by Jewelcraft and I have shown them with the Askew brooch simply because they are great combinations.
