Featuring an unusual shape with bulbous form, teardrop end and incredible clown head, he is complete with molded collar, hand painted features and even worry lines on his forehead! Bearing the original unmarked cap, ornament is German in origin, and dates to the early 1900s - it is hand painted and tinted the perfect pink with cream accents. Condition is lovely with no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs or damage - the metal cap has patination from age, and the pink paint faintly transfers when held (you can see a shadow of this on the white tablecloth underneath the clown from the original photo) - none of this detracts. Large and striking, it is a wonderful, early figural ornament - lovely addition to holiday collection or display - from my pink tree to yours ...
