Description: Antique Palais Royal Cut Etched Crystal/ Bronze Trinket Jewel Box. Sweet small antique Palais Royal etched crystal and bronze trinket or jewel box. Each crystal panel and the lid are bevel cut. The lid is etched with a floral, leaf and tendril design, the four sides are etched as well with tendrils and leaf forms. The bronze metal frame has beading, and flower forms . The feet are scrolled and pierced. The lid opens and closes nicely The crystal panels are held in place with metal prongs. The cushion on the inside was once covered in a gold colored silk but is worn to threads and would probably need to be recovered ( your choice ).The bottom appears to be metal and is solid. The right front foot seems to be about 1/16" shorter than the others. This elegant little French box would be a nice addition to any collection. Displays beautifully. All measurements are approximate: Box measures 2 7/8" square x 2 7/8" tall x 2 1/4" apart at the feet. Good antique condition to commensurate with age and use. There are a few chips on the beveled edge of the lid and some light scratching. There are 3 oyster chips on the body of the box, one is on the inside.
