Antique Micro Beaded Purse Bag with Scenic Countryside and Lake with Swans

Description: Stunning Antique Micro Beaded Purse Depicting a Scenic Countryside Lake Featuring a Pair of Beautiful Swimming Swans with Ornate Enameled and Jeweled Frame This stunning purse is intricately knitted using the tiniest of slightly iridescent glass beads. The artist takes us on the Swan’s journey as they float gracefully through the pastoral countryside using various shades of warm greens, blues, browns, orange, pink and white. The original frame has 3 white enameled flowers and 2 small medallions dotted across the front of the frame. There are 2 additional larger enameled flowers each with a reddish center jewel positioned at each corner of the frame along with some enameled green leaves with reddish jewels. There is one large enameled pendant flower dangle at the center of the frame. The frame is topped at the back side of the frame with a large asymmetrical green malachite colored jewel with green enameled leaves and one red jewel. All of the enameling is in excellent condition. The intricately beaded and looped fringe done in alternating colors from the purse is perfect. The original lining has little ruched pockets and shows no apparent wear or discoloration. The original owner noted there was one tiny area that showed what she believed was a dropped stitch in the knitting. This appears behind the right Swan’s tail on the front side in the area of the greenery along the shoreline. I have looked at this closely and agree this small blip is not a repair. This also does not lessen or take away from the appearance. With the minor exception to the above, the purse is perfect original condition. The purse measures 7-1/2” wide by 11” long with fringe. This rare purse from the 1800 - early 1900's is deserving of its importance from a time and era gone by and the art of the individual that created it.
