Description: Large pitcher or ewer from the Empire Works in Staffordshire, England. Dating to the 1920s, it is hand painted in the most wonderful earth tones while retaining the classic form of ironstone pitchers. I would consider this ceramic, and can't quite make up my mind whether it is art deco or art nouveau.... It measures just over a foot tall, or 12 plus inches. I see nothing to report on this, no repairs, cracks, flakes, hairlines, stains, other issues. The browns, black and ochre tones would work well as an accent pieces, perhaps with white cotton, white hydrangeas, or to pick up a color in your decorating scheme. And fall is just around the corner, even if today is the longest day of the year This will be double boxed and because of its size will go into oversized shipping cost. See for yourself!
