Description: Beautiful and fairly rare to find old loom woven primitive 19thc homespun in a marvelous very Americana indigo blue and red. I believe this is all cotton though may have a hint of old linen as well. Has a darling early mend. Slightly larger in scale and woven like the old ticking homespuns of its period.This was a New England find and I'm fairly certain based on it's make up/weave, feel, fibers etc..American and New England in origin. Though typically the earlier authentic American, PA. N.E etc..loomed homespuns were slightly wider loom widths but I've found a few early American homespun pieces through the years that are loomed a bit more narrow. Wondering if these were loomed on European looms brought over? Very possibly.Measures 31 1/2" wide by 36" long ~ Overall good, strong with a slightly more aged patina from former use which is perfect on this as it has the very best primitive appeal.
