Description: This book is a marvelous work of art, and a wonderful addition to a collection of antique books or books of Walt Whitman's poetry. Published in 1930 by Random House, this oversized hardcover (15 1/4 inches long by 11 1/2 inches wide) book contains the text for "Salut Au Monde" from Walt Whitman's Blades of Grass, stunningly illustrated. The book was printed in Czechoslovakia on Zanders hand-made paper by the State Printing Office in Prague in a new type cut by Vojtech Preissig. The volume is signed and numbered 135 of 390 printed (of which only 360 were for sale). The book's condition is excellent, no tears or other damage. It comes with an over-cover (not sure what that's called) which is entirely separate from the book, and that has sustained some wear. Own a beautiful piece of history!
