Description: Thirteen pickguard screw holes around the perimeter. According to my sources at Fender around 2005-2006 all of the Squier P-Basses went from 14 to 13 hole pickguards. Why? So folks could use USA and Mexico pickguards on the Squiers. Please note that there is a thin plastic masking sheet affixed to the front of this pickguard. Please note that this pickguard is made entirely from plastic; it contains NO animal products whatsoever. The "tortoise" is photo printed plastic. In the second photograph on the sale page you can see that the pickguard we're offering lines up pretty well with a newer Squier pickguard. Still, you may have to fill the old pickguard screw holes on your body and drill new ones for optimum fit. Some aluminum foil shielding in the control area as shown in photograph three. Brand New. Made by a company that makes lots of parts for import Fender guitars and basses. Bonus pickguard screws included! No pickguard is an exact replacement for any other. You almost always need to fill the old screw holes and drill new ones when you fit a new pickguard. You may also need to do some trimming of the guard in the neck pocket and control cavity area. In some case you even need to trim the cavities in the instruments body. Our goal here is to make the instrument easy, quick and effortless to disassemble and reassemble when repairs are needed.
