American Optical AO 51/2 Silver 52[]20 Bright Chrome Original Glass New OEM Tips

Description: Very, very rare 52 mm frame in Bright(shiny) chrome! Original AO American Optical Bright Silver Bayonet style model 5 1/2 with the original non-polarized gray glass lenses in very good condition . The temple tips have been removed and replaced with new OEM temple tips. Very nice. This frame is the original military aviator frame issued to Air Force pilots in the 60/70’s. The frame has been disassembled and thoroughly cleaned, detailed and renovated to factory specifications. It is 5.25” wide, and 140 mm(5.5”) deep. Please use this as a sizing guide to make sure these will fit your face. Please do that before you bid. The frames rate a 9+/10, with a few scratches on the chrome. Otherwise, really nice. The nose pads are yellowed with some marks on them. They have been removed and thoroughly cleaned. They are original AO nose pads, so preserving them is important. The frames are 50 + years old, and in really nice condition, but please do not purchase if you want new. They are authentic aviators from the 60/70’s. Comes with a new hard case for safe shipping. This is amongst the few bright chrome Original Pilot frames I have seen in 52 mm. Pretty nice for 50 years old. This frame rates a 9+/10.
