Description: This ancient Edison Amberola Model 30 originates from where my grandpappy was born (1907) in Mason County, WVA. It belonged to a childhood friend of his, Lorenzo 'Small' Woyan, whom I had the honor to meet back in the early '70s. When 'Small' died in 1986, my grandpa bought this outfit from his wife, or sister. Over the almost 40 years it has been in my family, we have searched and searched for an Amberola cabinet like this unique one, and have never seen anything like it. On top of that, it has over 100 wax 'records', along with a home-made list of them (most of the covers were gotten rid of sometime in the unknown past). This Amberola, though not exceedingly rare itself, was played now and again over the years, and it always worked. But I haven't wound it up for quite a while - not wanting to take the chance of damaging anything. The same could be said for the cabinet, having 100 years of dust in it, but me choosing to let the buyer gently clean it out. I have some small provenance for this - but it is essentially a 3-owner item - 'Small', my grandpappy, and me. Also, I have to list this for local pickup only, as I wouldn't have any idea how to ship it. It is (cabinet closed with Amberola on top) 52" tall x roughly 25" maximum diameter.
