Description: Complete Alpine radio cassette head unit, CD Changer and remote control. Radio cassette: Alpine TDM-7576R CD changer: CHM-S630 Remote control: RUE-4185 Radio cassette user manual: https://t3country.alpine-europe.com/fileadmin/user_upload/manuals//history_products/TDM-7574R/OM_TDM-7574R_EN.pdf CD changer manual: https://t3country.alpine-europe.com/fileadmin/user_upload/manuals//car_audio_manuals/CHM-S630/OM_CHM-S630_EN.pdf RUE-4185 manual: https://t3country.alpine-europe.com/fileadmin/user_upload/manuals//history_products/RUE-4185/OM_RUE-4185_EN.pdf This was one of three options for the Land Rover Discovery 2 from 1998 to 2004. Hence, the radio/cassette unit is also marked as the XQD000160LNF. It’s important to note, however, that there’s no Land Rover branding on the radio cassette, CD changer or remote control. The radio cassette does not power up with a “Land Rover” or “L Rover” sign-on message as some other units do, so these are generic TDM-7576R units. Also fitted to Jaguar vehicles from around the same period and presumably other high-end vehicles, and of course can be fitted to any car you choose. The head unit has fixed-colour green illumination, so please bear that in mind if your car has another dashboard colour. The radio cassette is BRAND NEW and has only been handled in order to get the photos and video for this auction listing. I guarantee this as part of this listing. Comes with a storage / carry box for the facia (removable for security purposes) which is unopened. Also comes with a hefty printed manual (unopened). The CD changer is an open box / damaged box item, and I have also been able to find some evidence of fitting. However, it’s appearance and function are so very close to new, I don’t think it matters. The magazine is completely unmarked. Comes with a long lead (original) to connect to the radio cassette, instruction booklet, stickers to cover the side damping orientation adjusters and stickers for the 3 underside locking holes (to prevent dust ingress once fitted in a car). All unopened / unused. See other listings for supposedly new CHM-S630 CD changers and you'll find plenty of evidence from the photographs that they definitely aren't. The remote control is used, however at the time I found one that had very very minor/slight cosmetic marking on the underside and is otherwise in excellent cosmetic condition, functioning perfectly (no retail box supplied). I’ve included a photo showing two marks on the UNDERSIDE of the CD changer, one along the plastic fascia edge interface with the metal case (very very small and light scuff/scratch) and a small set of marks in a line on the metal case paintwork at the corner where the cable exits. The mounting brackets also show some circular marks around the mounting slots, so these have been bolted up at some point. Head unit is PRISTINE and guaranteed to have no permanent marks of any kind anywhere. There may be a partial fingerprint I forgot to clean off after handling, and the odd spec of dust due to opening the item for photographing, but that’s it. The radio cassette has power load (it grabs the tape off you when you push it inwards) and power eject (full logic control also, including auto-reverse). Features such as intro scan, track skipping back and forth (any number), etc. Its specification is pure hi-fi, with a wow & flutter figure of 0.06% WRMS and a signal to noise ratio with Dolby B turned on of 68dB (60dB with Dolby off) which is as good as many a hi-fi tape deck which you'd have paid £150-£200 for back in the day. Pre-recorded tape playback sounds fantastic, and tapes you record yourself on a hi-fi deck will sound even better. I forgot to take a photo of the CD changer working, but I’ve included a video of all 3 elements of the system working (radio, cassette, CD). I’m using the supplied remote controller (RUE-4185) to demonstrate the system in the video. I move the camera over the 4 speakers in turn and turn it upside down so you can hear that each of the 4 speaker channels is working perfectly on radio, cassette and CD. At one point, the entire system goes off whilst I'm operating the remote. This was me pressing the pause button and then again to resume. I had the 12v PSU set to a current limit of 650mA, and the system pulls over 1A during a resume (presumably the start-up current for the CD motor), so the PSU went into current limit and caused a voltage supply drop, which is why the system turned off. Off camera, I quickly increased the current limit and then demonstrated the pause function again. Also supplied is an Alpine to standard ISO converter lead. The 16-pin white connector block goes into the back of the radio cassette. The black and brown sockets on the lead will connect with standard ISO connectors which most cars of a certain age will have. The brown block is the 8-pin speaker connector (front left, right, rear left, right) and the black block is for live +12v, switched +12v, ground (0v / earth), illumination and aerial control (NB: aerial control is an output from the unit, not an input, so be sure not to accidentally connect it to 0v or 12v - look up the pin connections on Wikipedia if you're unsure what wire does what). There’s no illumination on this unit which is controlled by the illumination input as far as I can tell. The whole unit lights up when you switch it on and is otherwise off. The CD changer comes with its own lead to connect to the radio/cassette, so you have literally everything you need for an easy and straightforward installation. Any questions please ask.The 4 speakers shown in the video are not included in the sale, or anything else you see in there apart from the radio-cassette and CD changer and their accessories (both boxed) and remote control, all as mentioned previously in the listing. Will be sent to you in a larger outer box, very well padded and packaged and insured for the full amount. Please bear in mind the free shipping I'm offering on this item, as this will actually cost in the range £25 to £35 for the size, weight and value of these items together.
