Description: . Up for sale are 4 unused postcards from Japan for the visit of the U.S. Navy Fleet in 1908. There's 4 divided back postcards published in Japan to commemorate the U.S. Atlantic Fleet's visit there in October 1908. One embossed card features a portrait of the Fleet's Commander-in-Chief, Rear Admiral Charles S. Sperry, USN, and the flags of the United States and Japan.and an Eagle. Another shows Sperry on an American Flag background and an American ship with anchor. Then there is a postcard showing Admiral Ishuin & Togo with a ship and embossed flowers. Lastly a postcard reading WELCOME and showing an American ship and an anchor. 2 have stamps but aren't posted. Two have stamps on them but are unused. All four are in fine condition. Rare lot.
