Description: Penn Antique Restoration 27"x74" Antique Solid Wood Interior Door w/5 Panels Distressed, antique door salvaged from an old home in Central New Jersey. It's made of solid Douglas fir or pine and is completely painted. There are 5 recessed (flat) panels on both sides. When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit it (check out our eBay store). * If you would like any of the hardware holes plugged with solid wood, please email us for a quote. Condition: Considering it's age, the door is in great shape. None of the panels are cracked or warped, there is no rot, no broken or cracked joints, nor any other serious flaws. The door just has the typical nicks and scratches that are commonly found on old, used doors. Most of the blemishes it has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting. Swing: The door is set up to swing into the room towards the right or away outwardly towards the left. However, we can modify it to swing in the opposite direction--email us for a quote. Refinish/Repaint: We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish. We have hundreds of photos of doors we've worked on over the years for reference. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote. Modification: We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs.
